May want to check and see if your add move pivot only button is selected? If so deselect it.

sorry but the "move pivot only" button?
I must overlook something here, yer talking about the Pivot buttons in the Hierarchy? If yes, there are not active

"Move Object Only"?

This is completely normal behaviour for a skinned object. You are not actuallly transforming the object, but rather moving the verts within that object.

i was afraid to hear that. Next step is clothing (simcloth 3) but those cloths are looking for the characters' pivot point.
How can i overcome this?

I don't know why the cloth objects would need the pivot of the character since they should be calculating collision with the mesh itself, but there may be a way around your problem. Link the character mesh to the root bone of the skeleton. This will cause a double transform due to the skin transformations being applied on top of the bone transformations, but fortunately there's an option in the skin modifier to overcome this. Just turn on "back transform vertices" (I think it's in the advanced rollout?), and now the pivot should follow the character around without affecting the skin behavior.
I've never put this in practice, but that's how it should work in theory if I'm interpreting the docs correctly:)
