A couple of things though... is the ring supposed to be copper, because that's what it seems to look like. Also, the height seems a bit tall compared to the diameter for most finger rings. If you hadn't mentioned ring in the subject, the absence of any other visual referant other than the grain texture of the wood along with the height to width ratio would have led me to believe this was a bracelet.

Looks good, but I think you can improve the image with a little more dramatic lightning, using rim lighting...
