Hello everyone, I'm entering kinda late but I figure I should give it a shot. Here is my concept. While exploring the vast opens of the Arctic this wanderer comes across these large animals.

I am just trying to get the dark and light values and try and lock in my color pallet. I actually haven't done a snow painting before so its hard to really think of what colors go into the white of snow. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm just working the figure and alian more, I'll work more on the landscape next time. I'm having a hard time with the snow though. It is hard to paint, for me at least.

Hey Matthew,

Great concept, the first snow scene i've seen so far. Time to click on the snowbrush and go to town. If you think snow is hard to paint, try rendering it. It's harder than it looks I know. Your doing an awesome job man. Have fun. Awesome piece by the way. Brad

Here is my final image,

The wanderer has come long and far. What he seeks is himself, but what he finds is creatures that are more wondrous then anything he has ever seen. Too get a better look he climbs a nearby cliff only to be overtaken with the majesty of these creatures that float through the air all around him.
