View Full Version : Any MAX5-style Move and Sew \ Stitch Selected scripts?

I recently had to start using MAX5 for work, and I've kind of fallen in love with its Stitch Selected tool, which is basically like Maya's Move and Sew (I believe it's called), except that in MAX, when you select the first edge and hit the button to stitch\sew, it selects the entire target area and all contiguous edges\verts\faces and rotates, moves and mirrors it perfectly into position, aligned to the edge I selected, then welds the UVs together. It does this perfectly and without distortion 9 times out of 10. It's a beautiful feature that makes my job easier, saves me time and trouble, and makes doing UVs a much more pleasant task. Naturally, Discreet appears to have removed it from MAX 5.1. :annoyed:

My question is, is there a script or anything that does this for Maya? I'd prefer doing UVs this way in Maya if at all possible, because, well, it's MAX... :P

Oops, um, just realized that this may have been the wrong subforum.

Sew UVs

Nope, that only interpolates between the two edges and distorts the map horribly. That's why I asked for a script. :)
