This illustration was done for Blend Studio Aps. to define the look and story for the upcoming game called Dark Horizon.

A sudden alien invasion takes us by surprise as their way to attack is not a common one. Meteors are actually alien pods and are coming from different directions at director's request.

All fire effects are hand painted;
The city reflects a dystopian near future where water level has risen all over the world.

Stunning! At first it confused me, cause I assume meteors would descend at the same diagonal, then read your explanation that they're alien pods and it makes sense now. Love it!

nice cityscape. i like the colors and depth. just one thing. the alien pods. They must be the same size, no? If they are, u actually have some scale issues.
btw. have u seen cloverfield? nice movie :D

Nice effect on the fire and smoke! I know it is very hard to achieve a good result if it is fully hand painted, but u did it, good job!
