look at these images...i already set the tesselation to 'highest' but i still get those bad curves/edges things or ugly gaps as one would say...any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Under Tesselation you find another Drop down thing called Options. There you can enable the smooth edge option. Play with the settings until you re fine.I guess that will do the job in your example. If not try using the advanced tesselation as well.
good luck

Did you assign smoothedge to both adjacent surfaces?

wgreen: no their not...should i attach them?

smooth edge..hmmmm..ill try that later...

im a max user...in max,the eges are automatically smooth as long as u fillet them or do anything else to the surfaces....i didnt thought that it would be that different in maya...i always thought that nurbs are basically the same which ever sft ware u use..anyway...back to studying...thanks

By default it is not enabled.. I'm very sure this is the problem

is there anyway i can enable this by default...trivial things like this should be 'on' always...this is just my opinion

This is such an old familair problem I have with modeling with maya's nurbs. I set up a basic model similair to yours, and have the same edge problem. But smoothedge didn't fix it for me ...
:annoyed:

It would be nice if it was an option for the trim function I suppose but most of the time you don't need it so...

There are several things that couldbe wrong here besides that I guess..

Can I look at the file?
