Okay, i'm trying to follow this tutorial in Cinema 4D v8.000:

http://www.splashchallenge.com/issue3/tutorial/tutor5/index.html

But, everytime i get to "Phase 2" my extruded nurb (with spline child) is 2-dimentional instead of 3D as displayed in the picture on the site. Here is what i come out with:

If anyone knows what i'm doing wrong here, please help. Thank you.

BTW: Brinkster has some problem with outside links. So, if you want to view the second link, you'll have to open a separate window and paste the link manually. Sorry.

You probably have to change the extrude direction--in the AM in R8, or double-click the extrude object in XL7.

What do you mean, change the direction? If you mean rotating it, i tried that but that does not help any... :hmm:

hi unknownwake,

when i click on your link, i get this: "...This file cannot be directly accessed from a remote site...", so i don't know what your problem is.

but i guess that AdamT is right: you have to change the extrusion direction (and that does not mean rotating the spline). in the attributes manager, under "object", set the correct "movement" (so that the extrusion takes place in the third dimension).

if that doesn't help: at the bottom of that tutorial, it says that the author will send you the c4d file on request.

bye

EDIT: ah, okay, i haven't read your PS. i can see the pic now.
