Okay, first of all let me say I‘m relatively new here and would like to thank CG Society, Softimage, David Brin and all the other sponsors for this incredible opportunity. Honestly I never would have had the nerve to enter a challenge at this site with artists of your caliber, if it weren’t for the XSI treat. I’m a just a humble Poser content maker who normally wouldn’t dare tangle with world class professional artists. However greed is a great motivator and tempts all man to do crazy things he otherwise wouldn‘t do. Personally I have been using Blender 3d for about two years now and finally starting to feel real comfortable with it. Most of the modeling I’ll be doing on this project will be done with Blender 3d. With all do respect to Softimage XSI, there is no way I can learn enough of this amazing program in time allotted for this challenge. Of coarse I will be trying to learn enough to render the final scene in XSI. I’ll be posting some WIP model shot later. Good luck to all, Eric.

Oh,man I'm running out of time, lol. Here is a untextured WIP render of the alien. He's very low-ploy i'm depending on his texture to do most of the work.

"STRATEGIC SUNDOWN" The mission deep behind enemy lines on the jungle moon Gaxnga-Ja is an important one. The Drakxsion space elevator is a mighty prize and very poorly defended. The Drakxsions believed the dense rain forest was the only defense needed, they believed it to be impenetrable for the humans. Unknown to the Drakxsions, the humans have formed an alliance with the Iguanadiods who are masters of dense jungle travel and warfare. A reconnaissance team of Sgt. Hakimoto and two Iguanadiod Rangers scout ahead of the rest of the brigade. A massive full assault of four brigades is scheduled to attack the space elevator and it's photon-laser powering stations just before dawn.
