View Full Version : precision uv for subd surf [maya]

Hi

I can use the UVs from the base mesh in my subd surface. However, the base mesh is a bit different than subd surface. Does anyone know of a way to transfer UVs of a level 1/2 poly mesh? I tried fooling around with the UV centric relationship editor but couldn't do anything. I really hope someone can help me out.

I posted this at highend but I'm really bleeding for an answer...

from my other post in a more appropriate spot:

"i did a bit more reading and searching and found that I should just turn off display geometry under the subd attributes. This way as I manipulate the subd level UVs there is no update. No need to work on a polygonal copy and transfer UVs. Subd UVs are more precise anyway. Sorry to waste time like this. Hope it helps someone
