View Full Version : 2 Big AE CS3 Problems

1) Every time i finish a mid-complex or complex setup and quit after effects it takes forever to shut off and i have to wait at least 2min's until ae finally quits.

2) For some reason ae started to behave very strange when rendering scenes. Either it drops frames (renders them black) or certain layers are messed up and the entire render is useless. I tried to turn off the open-gl and everything but it still isn't getting any better.

(i'm on os-x leopard 10.5.2, 4gb ram, c2d 2.4ghz)

Any ideas?

It flushes the disk-based caches. Depending on the drive speed, this can take a moment. The rest is unclear. Could be anything rom CoDec issues to buggy plugins.

I find that if I'm using a ton of layered Quicktime files in my scenes (especially at HD sizes) I get the same problem (black, dropped frames). My remedy: use image sequences when possible. Hope this helps.

I've found that turning off the multi-processor rendering in the prefs helps when that happens.

you're not using Quicktime 7.4 are you?
