Hi! I've read somewhere in the forum, that jackdeth
has used SSS for cloud-shading on the day after tomorrow.

I actually work on a similar scene and i'Ve found this great
tutorial of ducan on 'the area' about using b/w maps for fluids.

was jackdeth using the same way? or totaly different?!
and how do you align the cloud to the earth curvature?

thanks for your help!!!

map your cloud map to a sphere , bigger then your planet. Emit particles from texture of the sphere, emit density from your particles into fluidShape, set initiall state and then you have your cloud map in volume.
from that point do what you wish to it .

Thanks for reply! Is there a way of emitting immediatly particles on a surface
than over time? the way i actually do is --> emit ae 1000 paricles/sec.
wait till frame 50 (or so) till it fit my needs?

but there must me a option to emit all needed particles depending on the
surface at one moment, wouldnt??

and how do you think of using a sss-shader for the clouds? any expierience
for a setup?

thanks for your help!

It was a massive displacement surface, and I used the MISS shader in mentalray.
