Hi,

I just wonder how other animators manage keyframes in a way that allows you to go back to change poses without running into too much troubles? Anyone like to share thoughts on this?
Thanks!

I prefer setting up all my keyposes with stepped keys to get the timing right.
Very easy to go back and change since I have all the keys for the pose on the same frame.
And making sure I have very strong poses, otherwise it wont work in the end anyway!

Then convert to linear and add the anticipation and followthrough.

And then convert a few keys to spline (if needed).

You don't need to get to messy with the keys, and you have a good animation...

Eventually your keys will probably get crazy in any animation. What I usually try to do is keep my scene organized as long as possible by allowing things to hit into a pose on the same frame. I'll do this until I'm absolutely happy with the timing and transitions, then I'll go in and offset the limbs and add any subtlety's that are needed.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. :) I am kind of new in this industry. From some tutorial resources, I am learning the similar way like you guys use to organize my keyframes. But I feel sometime the main poses I set have to change after I work on in between, and then they become messy. Is this normal?

Thanks!
