View Full Version : How to parent lattice to joint

Hi there, I has wondering if someone knows how to parent a lattice on a joint and then, when I move the joint, no double transformation occurs?

Hmmm...not sure...but you could group the 2 lattice shapes you get when you created the lattice and try to parent that group node to the joint.

I'm not sure if I understand your question right. If you are trying to correct deformations on a smooth bound mesh with a lattice heres what you need to do. First apply the lattice to the skin, I assume you knew that. Second bind the lattice to the joint (smooth bind). Third, use the deformer sets window to remove the verts the lattice is effecting from the skin cluster, cause you only want the lattice to effect the skin in that area and not the skin cluster, doing this will prevent double transformations.
