Title: Simplified Dusty Glass
Name: Jeremy Allen Engleman
Country: USA
Software: Maya, mental ray

This glass was done with a simple Blinn shader. There is an extensive bump network which gives the reflections some tooth to catch on to. The dust is a combination of material, texture, and fur. The cork is a quick procedural.

There is a high resolution version at: http://www.maiden.org/jeremy/public/dusty_bottles.jpg

You can also download the full scene file including geometry, shaders, file textures, lights, gobos and environment maps at Gnomonology.

Although I really like your materials and lighting, the bottles do not appear to be touching the floor. It could use some shadowing, in my opinion.

Furthermore, the scene is a bit bland to me. I associate wine with nice warm places like Southern Europe or maybe California. Places with sun and a nice climate. The scene, as is, kind of depicts a colder environment (imo). It's just missing in atsmophere, I guess.

Hope this helps you in any way

Technically looks very good and I like the sober mood also. A bit like german esthetism.

I love the simplicity of the scene itself although perhaps it a bit too light, perhaps something darker would have fitted the older and dusty mood better but I doubt the dust would have looked so good, some sort of compromise perhaps ?

The one thing that is really bugging me about the scene though is 2 bottles are uncorked and empty, the third one is corked and therefore despite the dust you almost feel you should be seeing some wine left in the bottle ???

Overall very good though.
