Nice use of radiosity. The only thing that bothers me a little is that you have the same texture on both walls. I'd at least flip one of them.

~ 10.500 polys; 60Mb of TIF textures (wall, floor, lavatory - color, diffuse, bump - each at ~ 2400x1600)
Rendered on an AMD 1Ghz, 512Mb RAM with R8.1
Radiosity, one parallel light with area shadow - Rendertime: ~ 11minutes
That's the specs.
I don't know about scrawlings. Most times people put those in it looks a little bit like: "I need something cheap which might add realism". All the bathrooms I've ever been in didn't have scrawlings in it. Maybe that's because I know how to behave myself and not visit places where scrawling happens :)
BTW, there is "SG" written on the wall right behind the plumbing. I have no clue what it means - but then - no one knows what the written stuff in toilets means :D

Toss a copy of Maxim on the floor for the complete detail;)
Great picture. It asks all kinds of questions.

Updated and finished (as far as I'm concerned) - does it have any chance in the Gallery-Forum or will it suffer a 2-replies-death?

Put something else in the pic to make it look more interesting, use area shadows for the final render (i suppose you're using soft shadows) and you're done, good work so far :)

If you want to attract some comment you'll have to stick a car or a robot in there. ;)

render it bigger, and add a skeleton reading a newspaper, pants around the ankles etc, that would be pretty funny

I like it just the way it is. Stark functionality.

very nice rendering. the room is very generous
for a toilet - maybe the rebuild torture room
of an ancient castle :)

I think Adam was right about the texture being duplicated: it sticks out as wrong, even flipped... How about photoshopping it so it's got similar but different patterns.
Also how about a crack in the wall or floor?
here is some thing that will get some replies.
take one of squids pics or stalhbergs, or anyones it doesnt matter as long as they are well known and popular.
then change the title to abandoned and lonely stalhbergs future.
the idea is to make people think you are making a personal attack. when you are really just becoming a member of the your brit new wave in modern art.
of course the end result is that people will hate you, but that doesnt matter. Your an artist remember
:)
PS this post was made in a scarcastic tone please don't take it seriously
