I want to build a building in Maya. I have pictures of that building taken from different angle of it and I used the Image Plane function in Maya to build. But as most building pictures are taken from the ground, so the base of the building in the picture is wider than the top of the building (if the base and top of the building are same width).

How do I use the picture and build a correct scaled building?

(I'm a Maya beginner)

create a camera and use your image plane with that camera. don't use an orthographic camera to model something using an image plane with perspective. if you create a new camera though, you can set it up in your scene and then navigate with in your perspective viewport while still looking thru the camera viewport to align everything. making sense? i think i may even have confused myself

Get used to drawing it by hand. I think this will really help your modeling skills tremendously.
But truthfully, most buildings only have to have one floor built and then you can dupe it all the rest of the way up. Piece of cake.

Thanks TheWraith, it works. But because the image is tilted, the building becomes very short, but I think I can solve this by scaleing the model.
