I have a UV map question that I hope is very simple to answer. I am pretty rusty, therefore I hope I committed a simple mistake, Here goes:

Yesterday I had a very clean UV map all laid out (left image). Today when I opened it, the UV map was messed (see Right image). How do I get my UVs to return?

I assume this is a simple fix and likely something that I am over looking, such as the wrong map is applied. But as you’ll see in the photo, it appears that only one UV map exists. All input will be appreciated though.

To me it either looks like you've moved and sewn all edges together or you hit layout. You'll need to start over unless you have it in your undo bank.

Thanks. Yeah, it was hooped. I restarted. What do you refer to when saying I 'hit layout'?

Layout UVs function located near unfold and relax functions- depending on your settings inside layout the default settings will possibly cause a similar effect to this and one would think that laying-out a set of uvs already spread out might make them better but it has a tendency to move and sew in undesireable ways. Honestly I got poor effects from layout so I avoid it but I'm sure there are ppl that know its settings better than I.

Sorry- One more thing- When doing UVs and you get to a certain point I like to export that mesh and title it something like WIP_GOOD_UVS just in case.
