Hiya,
So....this is where everyone has got to! ;)
Anyway...has anyone got any tips or refs for deformation formulas? I'm trying to do some ripple effects across a plane and wanted to try it with geometry...
A page with some sample refs would be very helpful...

And a true formula to get water ripples is in the manual, also worth a look.
Thanks for that...I did see the Proximal exmaple, but I wanted to specifically use the formula method if feasible.
Where in the v.8 manual is the ripple formula you mentioned?

I only got R7 but it should work the same in R8... Here it is.
cos(4*sqrt(x*x+z*z)-2*t)/sqrt(1+4*sqrt(x*x+z*z))
They are animated over time....
Aha...just found it...but I can now copy and paste it from your post to try it out... ;)
