Hey there
Im new to maya but i have a strong background in Lightwave and XSI.
Here is my question ..
I want to have a scene that has a multiple objects animating , however i want those objects to be reference objects . so when ever I change there geommetry they update in the animated scene.
I tried using the Reference editor but all it seemed to do was replace an object with a proxy i specified, which is ok when there isnt any animation on the object. Although I was referenceing mb files seeing as obj files didnt work at all hence why on loading it did not transfer animation to the other object.
I did try parent the proxy to a locator but it unparents the object on replacement.
Im Using 2008 maya.
In Lightwave you model in one part of the programme and it updates whatever scenes are using that object automatically.
In XSI I export models attached to a Locator and import Reference Objects into the main scene for animation and when i change the source model it updates the other scenes.
Appreciate the help guys .
