Been wanting to do a painting of this guy from my sketchbook for a while. I put it in WIP because i'll probably go back to it later and experiment with some more detail. Any crits/comments welcome.

Heh heh - I love the concept. Not exactly a great villain with a bucket on his head as he'll probably walk into things a lot, but a great concept nevertheless

Nicely Painted.
Why does he have a bucket on his head?

Very cool. I like your painting style. The concept is strange but it really seems to work.

Hmm, nice painting job. Although i cant even imagine why he's wearing a bucket (???). And you cant see if his legs are bloody stubs or just not on the image ;).

A little story about the image would be nice ;)

Thanks for the comments/compliments guys, i didn't really expect any this soon.

Yeah, I can't imagine him being all that menacing, but then again it'd probably be creepier if he didn't bump into stuff with that thing on than if he had no bucket at all.

I have no real explaination for the bucket. This image just popped into my head one day and I sketched it out. I tried to make it seem kinda serious with the colors and style, but then there's the pail, which is pretty ridiculous. So as for a story, just take it as it is. How would you react to seeing this guy in a dark alley during a midnight stroll?

As for the legs, I kinda just want the bloody apron to run into the canvas and fade into the abstract shadows

Well thinking about it, just because he's wearing a bucket now doesn't necessarily mean he always has to wear a bucket. The apron might just be to protect him from blood stains and the bucket, he may be wearing because he was finding that, when chopping up his victims, he didn't want blood on his face. I do like the pose he's in as well too....makes him look like a mad butcher.

HAHAH....i think this is what it's all about. Great way to get attention: "why he's wearing a bucket?", great concept, he looks mad/scary and stupid as hell at the same time :D
