CGTalk - new commer to LW

Hi people..
well.. my first thread.. and my first use of LW :D

I come from a 7 years heritage of working with 3Ds Max (since it was still running on Dos).. I knew all the resources, plugins, DB.. etc..
and now, I just gave up working with it and wanted to start working on a "decent" program.. :confused:

so I instaled the demo version of LW7, and bought the inside LW book, and been browsing like crazy for the past two weeks..

being new to this LW business.. I am completely unaware of any good net resources: Data base, forums, tuts.. etc.. and would appreciate any help from you people to put me on track..

i know that this is a bit too much to ask.. but i would have helped anyone that asked me the same question about max, and hope that you will dp the same to me.. :D

so bring them on.. give a desperate 3D refugee a bit of help..

here we are, in the same boat.

i started with 3dstudio ver 1 and pregressed through to ver 4.
i would work right trough the night, spend lightyears building my scenes only to find myself with a razor in one hand ready to slit a wrist because of a crappy renderer.

I saw the results LW produced, and my mind was made up.

I defected and have not regretted it for one moment.

Get a third party book - Inside LW 7 by Dan Ablan will do wonders for your progress, the manual just does not do it for me.

Glad I am not alone.

Hey mabey we can start a support group for x-3dstudiomaxers :D

Just keep at it !!!
