boah, that's really bad..
sorry, but those are renders looking like rendered in povray.
no lighting mood here, no shading mood there.
at the top image - try getting more photoreal by doing fresnel shading on the chrome parts. even if it's chrome.. maybe do it just slightly to get more depth.
overlay it with scratches to get more realism.
you have a little lighting mood in the first render on the walls, but c'mon the textures in both images are really crappy, ..try using bump and spec maps.
it's not hard to fake gi, it's just a question of positioning the lights with a quadratic or cubic lightfalloff.. and a lot of work!
the second image is more terrible then the first one, did you used an ambient light?? never use it, or if you use it, use it with care.. and low amounts.
and you have massive texture tiling on the ground.. i mean compare your rendertimes to games - you have a massive better graphic in games with 15 fps!
try mixing the texturetiling with some dirt on the ground.
use higher resolution textures on the walls with specmaps.
try getting a lightmood or lightspills on the wall using gobos and falloffs..
so ..now you have a lot of keywords to search for and to improve your skills.. try around for a few weeks/months/ years ..then come back and poste something terrific.

With the lower image, think about where the light would be coming from. I see a blue/green light in the background, some of the light could be coming from there, casting shadows forwards into the room and maybe rim-lighting the back-lit objects in front of it. Maybe other light comes from one of the side hallways.
In that kind of grim-looking scene, I'm sure you want some nice contrast and darker areas, so light the areas that would be getting lit by a light source, and let the other parts go dark.
To fake a "GI" look, you need to pay a lot of attention to the corners, the way corners in real life (or with GI or even with just ambient occlusion) go a little darker where the walls meet, and two walls that touch eachother get to be a more similar tone at the line where they come together.
