There are 2 plugins I know of for hair.
Hair Department
http://www.bgs-group.de/seiten/text_us/us_service_plugins.html
Shave & a Haircut
http://www.gobeyondhair.co.uk
(the Maya version of the site has more info and pics, http://www.joealter.com)
if you are gonna wonder about Ps hair you will want to check out the photoshop forum. they are the ones that know the most.
Heres a tutorial thats very good
http://www.comet-cartoons.com/toons/3ddocs/hair/index.html
Look at his other works they are very good as far as inspiring better compisition as far as hair placement goes. This seems to be more of a texturing tutorial...
OMG...!!
There's actually a free hair thingy available...!!??
Thanks you so much for the links, now excuse me as I'll go crazy and stuff all my objects with hairs... Everywhere...!!
Woohoo!! :bounce:
Have fun counting polys ;)

Yea, be careful with Hair Dept. The polys can add up real fast.

its a pretty cool little plugin for making spikey sparse hair (like on my spider or hairy assed rhino monster images), buts its useless for fur, and on people it just looks stupid
i agree, i tried it on my head (well, the model i made), and it looks incredibly stupid and basically useless.

Since we are sort of on the hair/texturing topic I am clue-less when it comes to texturing. I have Photoshop 7 and was wondering how you imported a flat pic of a model that you make into a photo program (in my case PS 7) and paint it the way you want and put that image back on your model in c4d? Any explanations or links would be very appreciated...thx

thx guys i agree tho the plugin would do nice hairs on an animal but not on a human
hold on i also need help with the eyes, they look a little... basic
well yeah body paint or something like that but I think what you might really be asking is this.
to get your image into C4D.
simply open a new material, hit the image button in any channel you want to load it to. bwrose till you find it and hit done.
thats about it.
