Hi Nick,
Really hope you have time to come up with something :)

Thanks Dave, so do I ;)
So, i thought id outline the premise i had come up with around this idea:
"Present day, but after the 'war on terrorism' began after the 9/11 atrocities, the terrorist threat in Britain grew much faster than in reality, and there were many bomb threats and successful terrorist attacks throughout the UK, mostly in the major cities. From 2001 - 2004 there were so many terrorist attacks that the government was forced to place armed forces all over Britain with 'shoot to kill' orders if there was any abnormal activity suggesting terrorism.
New buildings being erected were more fortified and the focus became less about aestheticly pleasing design than how well a building could survive under terrorist attack.
Jump forward to 2008, and the British government have become so suspiscious of the general public, that policing has risen to extreme levels, and almost all civil liberties removed 'for the greater good of the country'. People are only allowed to work and shop during daylight hours where policing is easier, and surveillance is in operation everywhere, to the point where in major cities, there is no area left unseen.
However, the threat of terror has subsided, but the government sees this as less of a success and reason to return to normal, and more as proof that removing civil liberties leads to a more peaceful nation. This has caused rebel bands of Britons to rise up against the government and create a resistance. This new terror threat from inside the country is more difficult to handle, so more policing is put into place. Britain has fallen into a state of disrepair and is one of the most bleak places on earth to live. Leeds was the worst hit city in the North of England, and has both the highest rate of policing in the North, and the highest rate of rebel resistance..."
So, im looking a lot at brutalist architecture, damage and disrepair to buildings, surveillance and how locations are constructed to contain and keep out danger simultaneously. I want the whole scene to feel like a living prison.
Concepts to follow soon

Awesome idea man! Cant wait to see some bad ass concepts from you!

Ok, so here is the first concept from me. Still not completely happy with it - i want to add some proper holes into the building on the right yet, and just try to really make the place feel more bleak and oppressive. I may add some rubble in the centre of the road once i see the path of the cars in the footage. Ive already given myself probably a lot of roto work to do for the final shot, but i think it will be worth it...
Ill post a copy of the plate here too for easy comparison.

looking really good so far :D the only issue i have is the concrete wall. don't know if it is too high or if it would be better if it would descend with the road - just doesn't really work for me yet :D but that's just my personal opinion

Awesome and scary story at the same time. Let us pray that this wouldn't be the reality sometimes ;) From what I can see now you're on a good road here Nick, keep it up :)

Iy makes me laugh that everyone looks at Leeds as a place of dystopia, It can be quite nice there sometimes. I will excuse the elements sketch still looks good though. Dave has just helped me out with AE tracking and now my next challenge rotoscoping. I am practising like mad on rough edits so when it gets to the finished pieces it looks awesome. I like the last image you did it could be berlin in the final days of the war, but when you look down you realise it is 21st century Britain. Cool.
