I am afraid to post my work but I figured that I should take my medicine no matter what if I want to get better at this. Here Is a Car I modeled in Maya. I want to make the metal more realistic looking by adding some good reflections. I will post what kind of look I would like to achieve similar results to. Does anyone here know how to make realistic metals in Maya? Also I want a more realistic looking glass window for my car. Where should I start?

I want to produce similar metallic look to this image below. Any ideas guys?

Someone in the textures forum suggested that I post here instead to get the help I needed.

You need to add some fresnel falloff so the refections are stronger at glancing angles. The easiest way is to use the BRDF parameters in the mia_material and render with Mental Ray.

Otherwise if you are using the maya renderer then connect a facing ratio to the reflectivity through a ramp. However Mental Ray will give you more options.

You should also have refractions turned on on the glass.
