Hi

Maybe a bit offtopic but anyway.

My company is going to buy a pc for video editing with Sony Vegas and perhaps After Effects.

Were thinking of a q6600 quadcore, 6gb ram, 1 system disk and 1 data disk.

What would you recommend? Would the machine perform better with a data disk consisting of 2 physical drives tied together in a raid option??

Would the machine perform better with a data disk consisting of 2 physical drives tied together in a raid option??It really depends what kind of material your editing and whether or not you need to output it to a deck. If the material is just SD, then I would do 2 striped disks just in case, if it is 1080p HD, you will need 5 drives to play it back uncompressed without dropping frames. In general though, more disks the merrier.
