hi all, this is one of my class projects in the next 6 weeks. I thought I can post my WIP up for critiques along the way, as well as to motivate myself finishing the project.
I am very exciting about this because I am finally learning how to model in poly! there are many great works done in poly at CGTalk. I hope I can get some advice along the way :-)

<Model Sheet>
-
we are required to come up with a character design and turn it into a model sheet as followed:
some of the elements in the design are not quite line up (... i tried) but I guess I can tweak them later when modeling. I will follow up with the head model (and maybe some body parts) by the end of the week.

Awesome model sheet.. The clothes reminds me of Squall Leonheart from FF VIII :)

Hmm the only thing that I miss is more character to the face / hair.. But I don't know what you got in mind.

Great work sofar :thumbsup:

thanks, CGM.
you are right. there aren't enough detail (especially the fact) showing on the model sheet. however I do have a breakdown drawing of the head, as well as facial expression. maybe i should post it up as well.

I am glad you mentioned Squall from FF8. I am a big fan of FF seirs. Nomura Tetsuya (the character designer) is one of my favor character designer. :)

thanks for the c&c guys!

- yes, if I do plan to design a weapon for him (just hope I can build it in time)

I didn't expect it will take me this long and only get to this stage :-( fortunately I am getting use to model in poly!

add 2 sopt lights (one key with shadow, one fill) just to see how the form reacts with lighting.

spent few mins in photo shop randomly filling some color in. a quick way for me to pre-visualize the model with texture. It wasn't too bad, however, quite different then what i have in mind... need to more work on the model, especially the eye (too big?).
