View Full Version : How-to Question
Self-Designer 03-13-2008, 06:00 PM There's this music video: These New Puritans - Elvis (http://youtube.com/watch?v=lzHwRcOsDNw)
They did those strange waves under the skin... How do you think they've done it?

Some kind of displacement , either 2d on the footage or remodeled and comped into the footage
Andrew Kramer has a videotutorial about such FX in After Effects

looks to me like a hairdryer with approximately 20000 watt :)
if this is 3d, it wasn´t worth the effort, sorry.

I'm with Payton. It looks like they pointed a powerful air hose at the skin, then removed the hose in post.

Hehe. As low budget as you can get.. A strobe light, a dark room, and no clothes. That said, it was prolly just like Payton said.

Thanks for the comments. Well, a friend and I want to make a music video, just for fun, choosing "15 steps" from the latest album of Radiohead, In Rainbows. Anyway, the song talks about strings, and we thought about making strings going outside of the skin. Somehow it looked like this effect, but of course, a hairdryer won't help us. Anyway, we found this tutorial (http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial.html?id=87), and it might help to achieve the effect of the strings under the skin :)
