View Full Version : animation: greynautz, happy birthday!
slartibartfass 05-06-2003, 10:10 PM hello everybody!
i am new here in cgtalk...
i would like to show you an animation i have made. it is a bithday-animation to be send over the internet. so it was produced in quite a small resolution. i used max and character studio. the concept was developed together with a friend of mine.
and what makes me very happy...it just made the first place of the animago-award 2003 in the category professional / animation / virtual-character.

I loved it!! bravo!! I think my favorite piece of that clip are the hands! Brilliantly animated, you have added personality to the characters solely through the motion of their hands in my opinion! And you get the idea that they are singing with every bit of strength they can muster by the way you show the sway in the legs and back! Brilliant! I am a new user to Maya and I hope I can animate as good as that one day. :bounce:

thanks,
well the reason why they are doing it with the whole body is that they actually don't have a mouth to show that they are singing...it was really funny to try that. but we didn't want a mouth. it was supposed to be as close to the logo (the orange sphere) as possible. soo all we thought we could do is smaaal eyes.

It looks really great, the voices are also well done. Nice concept.
I don't really have anything to critique other than the elbow's bend a little bit funny. Then again they appear to be rubber characters so what differece does that make :)
