Finally an update!

Ok, so the concept here is the Fehsean race, a despised and fortunately small-numbering race of Darkness Invokers who apply venoms and hallucinogens to victims in order to incapacitate, de-soul, and then consume them. They often carry trophy skulls, representing the emptiness and wrecked minds of the people whose minds and souls they have destroyed prior to feasting on their flesh.

Sometimes, their enemies are powerful enough to resist the poisons and mind-control attempts and they must use their artifacts in self-defense or to kill in a more direct method of melee. They don't like to use this as once the body is dead, the soul cannot be retrieved through their powers any longer. For this Fehsean, a crafted staff is his artifact, which holds the souls as charges for the demonic mind-flaying and illusory magic the Fehsean employ.

Below are mostly finished colour painting and sketching images, as well as the very loose modelling sheet rough, which is the last thing to do here.

Hey Greg, really cool and original concept, I like your idea and design, perhaps an arm or a leg more on a strange fashion, not too human the body :) , more a wish than a critic :) On your colour image perhaps take out the candle an put a torch for a more evil enviroment and atmosphere for your painting :) only a comment. Again, great work! Cheers mate! :beer:

Thanks for the comments, Ferx! It's crunch time today, of course, so I'll be concentrating on finishing my modelling sheet presentation for the deadline and then if I have any time left I may be able to make some touch-ups to everything else. :) *crosses fingers*

I did change the candle to a torch in the end. Very appropriate suggestion, indeed :)
