So what methods do most go about when modeling cars? I'd like to go with polys, but some of the curvature I think would be easier to model with nurbs. I'm going to start modeling a Jeep Wrangler. If you're fimiliar with wranglers, you know theres not too much curvature, but enough to expose your inexperience with automobile modeling, haha. Any advise would be helpful. Also, how would you go about modeling coils? And tire treads? Thanks for any help in advance guys.

in all honesty it's pretty hard at first but once you get used to it you'll be doing models like nothing. I got my Tutorial from Digital Tutors. It is the photorealistic tutorial where they model a Mits. Eclipse. But you can use the same operations on any other vehicle.

I find polys are the easiest to use and then just add the smooth.

Still needing a few refinements but here's my progress
