is there any possibility to improve textures which are far away? i have only just started texturing, so i'm quite new to this, but it seems to me, that the further you get away from a texture, the worse its quality becomes....

here's an example:

in my opinion the closeup texture ono the right looks quite alright (for a first try anyway :D)...

but if you look at the texture on the left, same scene, different distance, the quality is pretty crappy... :/... it looks like someones put a blurfilter on top...

is there any way to improve this?

thx 4 comments :)...

edit: oh i'm using max btw. (could it be a max related problem)?

Supersampling (in the top level of the material),
Antialiasing filters (in the render dialog),
Filtering and Blur (in the bitmap rollouts in the material).
