View Full Version : XSI Depth Pass
pseudopod 03-11-2008, 05:28 PM This may sound like a basic question but I can't seem to get it to work properly in my scene. Everything turns out grey.
How can I do a depth pass and adjust the darkness and fall off etc?

just get a scalar state node and set it to ray length, plug it into a scalar change range node to give remap your scene range to 0 - 1, and plug that straight into the mat. Give that material to a partition containing all objects in your depth pass and you'll be good to go.

if you create a Zdepth pass,
xsi will put over all the objects a depth volume, material
here you can modify the settings.
just open the zdepth pass under the backgrund objects, will be
depth volume (have a purple icon, kinda)
and just play with it like any other material =)
