View Full Version : Does Composite Material work in mentalray?
soulburn3d 03-10-2008, 10:33 PM As the title states. I tried placing 2 Arch & Design materials in a composite material, the base material is completely opaque (no cutout) and the material in slot 1 has a map in the cutout slot of the material. When I render, instead of seeing the second material applied based off the map in the cutout slot, it almost looks like the transparent parts of the 1st material is refracting the base material. Is the composite material incompatible with mr? Or should I use a map other than the cutout map?

I am sure Master Zap mentioned several times that composite material useless inside MR.

Well, I didn't find any mention of that in my forum search, but thanks for letting me know, if anyone is the expert on the subject it would be him :)

Standard materials have worked for me in the composite slots with mr render. Have not tried with mr mats.

Yes, this issue is specifically related to Arch & Design materials in a composite material. I should probably have made the thread title slightly more specific.
