Following up from yesterday's PR that Jason Schleifer from Weta (and big CGTalk fan/mod) is hosting at the International 3D Awards ceremony - organized and run by the same people who bring you CGTalk....
Victor Navone from Pixar Animation Studios to Host at 1st Annual International 3D Awards
Victor Navone, renowned animator from Pixar Animation Studios, will host the Independent Animations category at the 1st Annual International 3D Awards Ceremony to be held on the evening of Friday 9 May at 3D Festival 2003, Copenhagen, Denmark. Navone also chaired and led the judging process for the Independent Animations category with an international panel of jury members from the 3D industry.

Its exciting to see such high quality work from all over the world, says Victor Navone. Im honored to have a part in giving these independent filmmakers the recognition they deserve.
The award for Best Independent 3D Animation honors an outstanding animation or short film produced by independent 3D artists. Entries were judged based on the criteria of Originality & Creativity, Design & Aesthetics, Workmanship & Technical Excellence, Storytelling and Cinematography.

- This Wonderful Life, Liam Kemp, UK
- Eternal Gaze, Sam Chen, USA
- Chain Smoker, Ulf Lundgren, Sweden
- Henry's Garden, Moon Seun and Kevin Geiger, USA
The winning entry will be awarded the Digital Hero trophy at the 1st Annual International 3D Awards Ceremony, to be held on the evening of Friday, 9th May 2003 at Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark.
