I can already see a lot of the character in him, but that's in part because I have quite a few pen sketches on paper in front of me.
I want him to be an intimidating, heavy, powerful knight. There is no physical being underneath the armor and he doesn't speak. Details later...

Very dynamic image. Hope to see some more of your character soon.

Getting some work done on my heavy demonic rider. I got side-tracked last weekend learning animal anatomy (great new book "Animals Anatomy for the Artists" - by Eliot Goldfinger).
Anyway, I'm thinking of having my rider charging across a barren, red planet. I want to make the image heavily detailed and push myself. That's what this challenge is about!

Finally, time to do some detailing. One of the images I chose for reference is this fierce looking fish. It's called Aphanopus Carbo - I think it's a deep sea fish. I implemented it in to the pauldron design.
I changed the bull's running pose and spent quite a bit of time adjusting the overall pose of the rider and bull - I think I'm happy with it now and will bring on the fine-tuning. I'm looking forward to adding some color... I wonder what the red will do to the armor...

Hm, looks like I won't finish this in time. Sorry folks. I'll finish the painting in color and post it on my site and on some forums, I'm sure. I actually spent several weekends on this project, so I owe it to myself to finish it.
As for this contest, good luck folks!
