CGTalk - Portfolio Question

Hi,

I would like to be a 3d character modeler and I was wondering if it is ok to put 3d models of recognizable characters (ie batman, superman) in your portfolio? or is that frowned upon?

If the model you made rocks why shouldn't you put it? After all, many modeleres have posted actual character renders. It is the quality of your model that you are trying to sell,isn't it?
