Very nice work. It reminds me in some way of Albert Bierstadt and William Turner. Don't worry, it's a compliment :D

Omg, this is just wonderful! It reminds my the impressionism, indeed. Althougt you've used a bit more moderate colors. But it's still lovely! As I see, you're getting better and better in your art! I'm adoring your style and technique! Keep it up!

Yes!

Yes!

Man, what a wonderful achievement! Your profound experience in both landscape studies and impressionist techniques of suggesting detail and creating interest... it all shows here and you really pulled it all together.

I really like how the outline of the rocks to the right dissolves into the background haze.
There are elements I read as subtle homages to landscape painters who I think we both love very much: Caspar David Friedrich comes to mind when I see the gloomy ruins to the right, and the sunset in combination with the naval topic somehow reminded me of William Turner.

But I would say it's not so much a quote (which would still be great), but rather a hint at roots and influences.

Only two things I could crit are:

- the forms on the left are a bit outlandish for a purely historical theme. They don't look like any piece of historical architecture I know of. That kind of puzzled me.

- I wouldn't have my ships anchor in such a narrow place, no matter how nice it looks... As a captain I'd probably get the hell outta there... :scream:

Great job, Waheed

hey hey...thank u so much Mu, for taking the time to visit and for all your kind kind words and for the input as well...:). nice to see that u like it and if this reminds u of Caspar David Friedrich and William Turner, then im honored and i really feel i did something good...:). atleast, little. and yes, we both love these great painters. its nice to see that u observed each n every area so deeply and that really puts a smile on my face...:). thank you.

i do agree with you on your opinion on the architecture, i did paint something first, that had a clear look of something from the past, but i did change it to these shapes as i find these more interesting with nice divisions. i shouldve kept those earlier ones. u are right...:). about the narrow passage. lol. yeah. though ive made those ships overlapping eachother, not side by side between the banks, i think i shouldve gone for just two of them...:).

thanks again mate. i appreciate your visit.

best wishes.

I recently went to an exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art for Joseph Turner - this work reminds me a bit of the stuff he used to dabble in. Look it up, he was an amazing artist way ahead of his time.

Great job Waheed, 5 stars from me, it's one of my favs.
