View Full Version : Q: Project Curve on Surface

Howdy,

I have a NURB surface and a circle. When I project the circle onto the nurb surface, I get two projectionCurves under the projectionCurve node. Any idea why? It's a bit of a nuisance. I looked at the node & MEL documentation and it doesn't help at all.

Any of you NURB modelers out there know the answer to this and how to avoid the double projection curves?

Thanks,

Alec

ACFred,

I believe when you project a curve in Maya in projects in from the the perspective of the camera right? Well, usually, Maya will will project the curve on the surface, AND on any surface behind it. Say for instance you project a curve on sphere, it'll project another one on the backside of that sphere. In order to remedy the problem, you can just simply admit defeat, tumble around, and delete the curve. Or, I believe another option is to go into the project curve tool and toggle project the on "surface normals." You'll get slightly different results but no more second curve. Hope that helps. If not, or I'm wrong, let me know in a pm or on this thread.
