Hi all,

I just found this board through the other board CGCHAT.

I post this model there & they are having a hrad time believing this is my first. I have been working with 3d for about 1/2 months. Before that it was Adobe PhotoShop.

C&C are welcome :)

The proportions are pretty good but the musculature on the male torso especially is not very accurate. It looks like you are mainly using Artisan to do the modelling.

woah, you catch on quickly if you did that after just half a month!

pretty good.. could use better lighting and on a white background so we can see it a little better

gmask,

You are very right, I use mostly Artisan to do these models. As this is my fisrt I was having a hrad time controling maya to do what I wanted down to every polygon. So instead of manipulating every point or edge, as in Vertex, Edge, Face, I use Sculpt Polygons Tool (Artisan)

I staeted on a new one a female, in polygon useing Vertex, Edge, Face, Extrude Face, Split Polygon Tool & Cut Faces Tool etc.

I'm learning that the flow of the lines on your model makes a big diffrent in the smoothing effect.

The polygon level for the male model above is to high. In other words I Artisan> Smooth> Artisan> Smooth over & over about 5 times & now there is very little I can do with it at this point:( As I look around at the others at CGCHAT & here, They seem to get very nice detail with low polygon after smoothing, it fiows better that anyway :)

I will post as soon as I get some of her together.

3DKnight thanks for the imput:)

P.S. Its ok to post nudeity on here right ? Because I remember reading someting in the agreement forum that says no nudeity.

Unfortunately you'll have to do alot of optimization and basically use this model as a template to rebuilad one that is useable for aniamtion if that's what you intend to do next.

Yeah.. some people ask that you mention nudity in the title of the thread. You can edit you first post to correct this is you want. Anything pornographic would be unacceptable but that's not the case here.
