View Full Version : HELP: Merging Edges
Flash FROG 05-05-2003, 08:13 PM I created an air plane, but when I tried to attach the wings the edges screw up.
Take a look at these pics.
I go into the Merge Edge tool

Then I select the two edges with the tool

Then I hit enter, and it turns out like this.

The normals on the two combined poly surfaces have to point in the same direction

How do I make it so that the normals on the wing and the normals on the body are facing in the same direction?

It is usually easier to do this before combining because you can just select the offending meshes and then use the invert normals command under the poly edit menu. Otherwise you willhave to select all the offending faces and invert them. You can view the normals with the display polygon components normals menu under display menu.

As for you Maya Ayanami the people sit in those round things inthe front, but I havent finished them yet. They are supposed to be windows. The thing in the middle is an intena for radi signals.
