I'm looking to scale a model down or up according to the object's normals not pivot point.

Softimage has such a function called PUSH+ which did this. Does Maya have an equivalent?

Thanks for any info

Gerald

I think you could use the Artisan surface tool to "push" the object and make it larger by using flood and a push or pull value or whatever you like.

yea, what gMask said :D Also there's also a tool to move Verts by their normals too :)

Edit: it's the MoveNormal Tool ( to move verts along the normal). some notes on tools by Stahlberg here :D http://www.androidblues.com/shelftut.html

select all vertices of the object and then move them with Move Settings set to Normal

Thanks guys

Those are excellent new tools.

But I think they may not apply to my nurbs model.

Where is this "move settings", stunndman?

Thanks for the info, it will come into use eventually

Cheers

Gerald

if you are working with 4.5 and above you can use the marking menu to switch the move settings - just hold down the move key (w) and LMB

otherwise Windows->Settings/Preferences->Tool Settings
