Hey there,

I am using 3DS Max and try to model a roller Coaster, I have modeled a straight rail and try to use the modifier space path deform to make it follow the shape of the path.
the thing is that it doesm't follow the real shape of the spline, looks very wiered and not on the right angle, I tried all the axes but it is still looking bad...
would you have any hints and tips to model a roller coaster like object in 3DSMAX?

thanks!

seems to work after a reset Xform and Axis centered on objects ;)

sorry for this disturbing newbie post ;)

Do some investigation into the Sweep modifier.Very quick and simple method with good results.

Perhaps look at the coaster as parts, and model out said parts the good old fashioned way, xtrude, rotate, xtrude, rotate etc... once you have some straight track, and some curved pieces, then things should be pretty straight forward from there... :)

cheers
