Hey dude, hang in there and keep bashing at it :)

This is pretty decent for a first attempt....I attempted my first character about a year ago and it *sucked*. I think lots of the awesome artists around here all had to start somewhere, and I doubt they started out producing such high-quality stuff!

It comes down to talent and spending time perfecting it.

There are loads of head tutorials on the web, just need to do a search in google.

As far as realism in character modelling is concerned.....best bet is to find some decent reference and try stick to that. www.fineart.sk is a V good source of reference material. Pay attention to your proportions, and just observe peoples' faces around you.

Good luck
