View Full Version : sss physical material (Menatl Ray) : 3dsmax 9 vs 3dsmax 2008

Hi,

I've made a render test of the sss physical material with 3dsmax 9 and 3dsmax 2008.
The difference between these two renders is amasing. :eek:

The render test with 3dsmax 9 is bright and some areas are transparent. With 3dsmax 2008, the material is darker and no longer transparent :sad:.

Both of the scene are similar : same units, same materials, same parameters of render...

The material is made as followed :

sss physical material
materialmaterial to shaderArch & Design Color diffuse OutputRGB Tint
transmissionOutputRGB Tint
Can you explain where the difference come from ?
How can the same render be obtained with 3dsmax 2008 ?
