Thanks man, your input is much appreciated! Im thinking of sticking quite close to the coloured image but beefing it up a little with some of the elements from the characters you picked out.

3 Looks awesome, but remember we have to stick to the CG Society 'colour pallete' . So maybe that but in the CG Society colours, that'd look pretty good :thumbsup:

cheers man, am just worried that the round portal is a bit cliche any ideas??

Hello Dan, I like the 7th portal very much. I think these look great, but if you worry about the round shape, you can try a square or a triangle. As for the characters I prefer the 3rd, 7th, 8th and 15th, but really they're all good so no matter which one you'll choose to go with, I'm sure you'll make a great character. Same for the portal. Keep it up! :thumbsup:

Hi everyone, as I said before, im pretty new to a lot of the processes used here, so here is my first attempt at a final piece using photoshop,(and a wacom that doesnt work properly).

I'm really having trouble controling my colous schemes, and refining the image. Does anyone have any tips? any good tutorial sites?? Thanks very much!

Right, I guess I'm running out of time now guys, but this really has been a great learning experience! Thanks to everyone in this forum who has shared ideas, and work in progress images. It is much appreciated by us novices!

Hi All, also I have one question. was looking at the competition guidelines and it says all images must be 1000 x 1000 pixels. does this mean all the images have to be square or is the 1000pixel thing a maximum value for two of thw sides?i.e. could i just scale down an a4 image??

Well those are my images, but now im really stressed because I have tried uploading them, and I got the "congratulations " message from game artisans, but my thumbnail isnt showing up when i click on cg society entries page. Im really worried, has this happened to anyone else???
