Hey guys

I'm new to this site and I've been doing novice animation for a year now.
However I am curious about the theory facial animation has.

How a facial expressions used to communicate? that is a starting question but
prehapes I can research more spacificlly.

why do we use animation and not actors?

why does faces portray you a character?

any help would be nice.
