Wavefront was a company or software? If a company, what was their main 3D software?

Wavefront was a company and their main software packages were Wavefront Advanced / Personal Visualizer and Dynamation.

Two other programs that were used for film and highend graphics back in the day were Side Effects Prisms (now known as Houdini) and Vertigo (which is now a scaled down plugin for Photoshop).

Maya completed in 1998. Houdini was completed in 1996. The pre-cursor to Houdini was PRISMS which I think was a bit after Alias.
