CGTalk - fur problem with render

everytime i render this fur system it gives me cubes along with the fur. I cant figure out whats going on, ive tried to do a new fur descrip but the same thign happens. Im using Maya 4.5 for this and am completely confused all helps appreciated.

cant help you either cause im c4d try posting in the maya section for this its prob the more apprepreate forum if you havent posted there already
