hey ExodusMaximus,
Yeah not a bad system.
Dunno about the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro though, as I've never heard good things about em. If ya gonna use it mainly for 3d apps, a quadro is the way to go.
It's been discussed a number of times on this forum.

This system is really good and I think the price is normal, but if you want to get a good PC for graphic work its better to have a GeForce FX, then a Radeon. The productivity is the same, but Radeon drivers have a lot of errors.

You know that you can make that radeon into FireGl X1 ?
go to guru3d.com (http://www.guru3d.com) .
you can use riva tuner now, to make radeon to fireGl switch

what do you plan to do with this computer? modeling? rendering? compositing?
If you have money to spend and plan to do alot of rendering or multitasking, I suggest you get yourself a dual processor system. You'll have to spend about $500 more, but you'll get 110% stability and your render times will be alot faster.
Check out this link for rendering times on different computer setups with Maya:

Go to the forums at 2cpu.com to get more advice and feedback.

You can also setup a complete system at gamepc, although their prices are a bit expensive.

Hope that helps. btw I'm running a dual athlon mp 1800 and can render a sequence in maya while running Adobe AfterFX with no problems.

yeah its a great system, although the 9700pro is not so great in 3dapps, i have one and it does "ok" in 3dsmax, I have not tried anything else yet.
Softfiregl'ing it will make it run better in 3dapps, but a lot worse in games, so you would ideally need to run to versions of windows, one for games and one for 3dapps, unless you dont play games. Either way the softquadro'ed Geforce4's perform better anyway and if you choose not to soft them then the GF4 beats teh 9700pro in 3d apps.
If you can afford it get your self a Quadro 980xl, very good cards.
What will the system mainly be used for?
